How I Post on Notes Every Day Without Overthinking It
Posting on Notes daily is easier than you think.
If you didn’t know yet, posting on Notes daily can be the best way to get new people to learn about you, follow you and subscribe.
It’s how you get in front of the eyes of strangers who can turn into loyal readers if your Note hit home.
And the more you post, the bigger your chances of getting attention.
Many Substackers want to post daily, but it feels overwhelming. It becomes a mission impossible when you put pressure into it, or are being hard on yourself if you skip a day.
So here are the simple ways in which I post daily Notes (or a couple times a day) without feeling stressed or burned out:
Have a running list of ideas.
For a start, whenever an interesting idea for a Note pops in your mind, open a doc and write it down. Do that with everything that feels good, might help others or fits the format.
Over time, it can become a habit to open that list 1-3 times a day, copy/paste one of the ready-made Notes, and simply publish it.
Document your thoughts + actions + day.
Running out of ideas often? You have more to share than you think.
Whenever you have an interesting thought, turn it into a Note and relate it to what you teach online and what you’re an expert in. There’s always a way.
When something happens in your day, when there’s a life lesson, an emotion that overpowers you, be authentic and write about it.
Your morning routine, what you’re reading, lessons from a training you watched, a new habit you’re developing… it all matters.
Get personal, be open about your life and day, or just think out loud (on Substack).
Each of these little moments of your day can turn into the one Note that makes all the difference (which goes viral and brings hundreds of followers or subscribers to your publication).
Turn long-form content into multiple Notes.
Whenever you write a Substack post (or create any other long-form piece for your business), turn it into 10-20 Notes and save them for later.
If you keep repurposing, each of these thoughts can be said in a few different ways. Give things a different spin, and you have another educational or inspiration Note to share on your Substack.
Give it time.
Like any other habit, this won’t happen overnight.
You’ll post 3 times today and tomorrow, but might not feel like it (or forget about it) for the next 2 days. That doesn’t matter as long as you get back to doing it.
You can add reminders, have it as tasks on your to-do list or calendar, or anything else that works for you.
Substack recently released a new feature that allows you to schedule Notes. I’m not using it, but I can imagine it’s a game-changer for some people who prefer to create many Notes per day and space them out.
So these are my simple ways to post on Notes daily without burning out.
What’s working for you?
And have you seen any success solely from Notes?
Best,
Lidiya
